About Acne Scarring

Understanding Acne Scarring

Acne scars are the result of inflammation of acne blemishes. The acne pore swells and a breakdown occurs in the wall of the pore. Some acne blemishes are small and the scars created are shallow and heal quickly. Sometimes the contents of blemishes spill into the surrounding tissue and cause deeper scars. Treatments for acne scarring include chemical peels, Dermaroller, and Dermalux LED light therapy.

Acne Scarring FAQs

Do acne scars go away?

Acne scarring can be treated, most of the time they are caused from previous blemishes being squeezed which can cause hyperpigmentation. Picking or squeezing acne can increase the risk for scarring, though. The sooner you have them treated, the better the result.

It depends on the severity of the scarring, normally between 3-6 treatments on average, alongside a recommended skincare routine at home for best results.

The result time varies for every individual, it depends on how long the scar has been there for and how committed to a routine you are. A course of treatment is required to see optimum results.

I treat both the face and body for acne scarring.
